GIS / Mapping
RLMS has a Geographic Information System (GIS) specialist unit which creates maps and provides analytical data for use in reports and presentations. The GIS database consists of spatially-referenced information that is used for desk top studies to find answers to specific land-related questions, route selection, mapping corridors, as well as producing customized mapping products. Cultural Heritage
RLMS has been involved in several Cultural Heritage processes and Native Title negotiations. RLMS identifies that effective communication between the proponent and the Traditional Owners is the key issue for a successful project. RLMS has an understanding of the Aboriginal culture and significant experience in dealing with representatives from different Land Councils. RLMS is also familiar with the current legislation and procedures for both the right to negotiate process (RTN) and the indigenous land use agreements (ILUA).
