The CopperString Project

Overview

  • The Project consists of an 1100km power transmission line connecting the National Electricity Market, near Townsville to communities and major energy users in North-West Queensland.
  • The Project was expected to have a capital expenditure of approximately $1.5 billion and employ 750 people during the construction of the Project.
    RLMS assisted CopperString in the early concept design of the Project and coordinated the EIS, environmental approval process and landholder consultation activities.
  • RLMS ensured that legislative requirements were met and adequate stakeholder consultation was undertaken to inform the detailed design of the Project and positive outcomes are generated for all interested parties.
